Formerly known as Huizhou Central Stadium, it is often referred to as the "Huizhou Bird's Nest" or the "New Huizhou Roundhouse." Inspired by Lingnan Hakka roundhouses and bamboo hats, its design embodies themes of sustainability, harmony, and cultural heritage while highlighting Huizhou's rich local traditions.
The stadium spans a total area of 420,000 square meters, including the main stadium, auxiliary fields, a tennis center, a fitness square, and other facilities, with a seating capacity of 40,000. Built with advanced energy-efficient technologies, new materials, and innovative construction methods, it showcases modern green design principles. As the main venue for the 2010 Guangdong Provincial Games, it continues to serve as a hub for sports, culture, and community activities, symbolizing innovation and community spirit in Huizhou.
