Chengdu Sports Center
Located on Renmin Middle Road in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Chengdu Sports Center is an iconic landmark covering 140 mu (about 93,333 square meters). Originally built between 1987 and 1991, it was the first comprehensive stadium in Chengdu, seating 39,225 spectators.
The stadium served as the home ground for Sichuan Quanxing and Chengdu Tiancheng and hosted significant events, including the 5th FIFA Women's World Cup in 2007. Known for its high attendance and vibrant atmosphere, it earned Chengdu the nickname "Golden Football City."
Archaeological discoveries near the site since 2013 revealed historical ruins, leading to the conversion of the area into "Donghuamen Ruins Park". The center began renovation in 2016 and continues to be a key venue for performances, concerts, and sports events.
